Reduced Billing Frequency

We offer two programs that allow qualified customers to decide how often they will receive their bills.

Opt Out ProgramOpt Out Program
An automatic program that affects all customers with bills less than $20 in a given month.
My Bill, My TimeMy Bill, My Time
Decide how often your bill will be delivered to you.

Opt Out Program

If your energy usage is less than $20 in any given month, you will automatically be enrolled in the Reduced Billing Frequency program. Once your account balance reaches $20, your bill will be automatically mailed to you without penalty. Bills can be deferred for up to three months.

The program allows you to reduce the number of checks you write, the stamps you buy and helps the environment by reducing paper bills. Customers enrolled in DTE Energy eBill, the automatic payment plan, other payment plans or a payment agreements, Electric/Gas Choice or accounts with arrears are not eligible.

If you would like to keep receiving your paper bill for small monthly amounts, you can choose to opt out of the Reduced Billing Frequency.

My Bill, My Time

The My Bill, My Time program allows you to decide how often your bill will be printed and mailed to you. You tell us when to send your bill, based on when your total account balance reaches the maximum bill amount that you choose up $50. Once your account reaches your determined balance, your bill will be automatically mailed to you without penalty. Bills will be automatically mailed on the third month.

The program is designed for customers with monthly bills that are less than $50 and who pay their DTE Energy bill in full and on time. Customers enrolled in DTE Energy eBill, the automatic payment plan, other payment plans or a payment agreements, Electric/Gas Choice or accounts with arrears are not eligible.
