Security Number and your account or phone number. If you are a new customer,

Q: What do I have to do before I
turn on gas service?
A: Your electricity must be turned on before DTE Energy can turn on your
natural gas service.
Q: My gas meter is inside my
home. Do I have to be home when the meter is disconnected?
A: Yes. Please arrange for an adult (18 years or older) to be present to
give us clear access to your meter for gas to be disconnected. If the new
residents have requested that service be turned on in their name prior to the
date of your disconnection request, your gas meter will not be disconnected. In
this case, DTE Energy will simply transfer names on the requested date. Please
note: If you do not allow DTE Energy access to an inside gas meter, you will be
responsible for the gas usage at the residence until the gas service is
transferred out of your name.

present to give us clear access to your meter for gas to be turned on.
